This listing is for a super rare Coleco SECTAURS Action Figure Press Pack from the 1984 New York Toy Fair. I obtained this pack from a former Coleco employee who worked on the main designs and concepts for Sectaurs back in the 80s. This was from his personal collection of items that he worked on at the same time as at Coleco. He couldn’t tell me how many packs were produced but told me that they were extremely limited as it was only distributed in the retailer panel at Toy Fair.
Offers will be considered.
This pack contains everything that you see in the photos. Everything is stored neatly in the brown envelope just as you would have gotten it handed to you at Toy Fair in ’84. The folder (which has the same cover art as the Toy Fair catalog that is more common) contains (qty9) 8×10 glossy photos of the original toy prototypes and concepts. A large fold out poster (in black and white) for retail stores to showcase their pricing. The poster has $0.00 in the pricing sections and has a spot to indicate the retailers “store name and address”.
The Dargon lithograph is super rare and is a limited edition signed by the artist at Marvel Comics as indicated in the enclosed letter from Arnold Greenberg (President of Coleco) dated February 13, 1985. This thing has incredibly bright colors and must be framed.
Every document in this pack is super crisp and in near-perfect condition. The Dargon lithograph has a small spot of discoloration on the top edge of the white border that does not show up in photos and is hardly notifiable especially if you have it framed.
I have been a collector for a very long time and this is one of my prized pieces. I unfortunately do not have the means to display all of the cool pieces in this pack so I wish to make sure it finds a good home. The item will be shipped in a box (not an envelope) so you’ll be sure it’ll arrive safely. I can of course provide insurance and tracking.
Please reach out if you have any questions or wish to see more detailed photos of anything in this pack. I can be glad to answer any questions regarding this item alternatively I can not reveal the identity of the former employee in an effort to respect their privacy. I haven’t seen another pack like this offered for sale so please feel free to make an offer if you do not consider my asking price.
