2017 Why Cycles R+ Titanium road, gravel, cross bike, SRAM Force 1 X 11 Medium



I just got this bike and I absolutely love it, but it is just a tiny bit too big for me. If I can sell it without loosing too much I can get the same bike in a small. You really need to be at least 5’7″ for this bike and I am a long legged, short torso 5’6″. I researched titanium bikes, Lynskey, Seven, Litespeed, Moots,  before deciding that Why Cycles was the absolute best out there. Compare the details and You are going to see. The R+ has a few unique geometry features. Mainly, the bottom bracket drop and the reach. The BB drop affects how a bike corners and, combined with chainstay length, affects it’s stability. On the R+ the BB drop is just slightly more than other similar bikes out there, giving it a more stable, comfortable feel, yet making cornering feel more precise when initiated by the rider. The reach is slightly longer than similar bikes, which eliminates some toe-overlap (hitting the toe on the front tire in tight corners) and also optimizes handling by stealing some tactics from the mountain bike world- wider bars and shorter stems.


We make our bikes form the best materials conceivable for the terrain we ride. For now, that means titanium, but we’re not stopping there stay posted. We use the highest quality Grade 9 3/2.5 titanium for our frames’ tubing, and 6/4 titanium for the head tube, bottom bracket shell, and machined bits in every single place the frame. The wonder material has such a lot of excellent ride quality attributes: 43% lighter than steel, higher strength-weight ratio than aluminum, significantly more resistant to crash-damage than carbon, and the best vibration damping properties of all three listed here. Titanium is desirable because it’s lighter than steel and stronger than steel and aluminium, and its high fatigue strength means a titanium frame should last ceaselessly. It’s those traits that have ensured it has continued to be a popular choice with cyclists wanting a fine riding frame that will last the length of time. Plus of course there is the fabled ride quality, which is reminiscent of a steel frame with plenty of spring and high comfort, but it can be used to build a stiff race bike depending on tubing diameters and profiles.
