If you’re in search of adventure on two wheels, this is your steed! The bike is a Tumbleweed Prospector, size medium, with brand new Rohloff Speedhub 500/14 internal gear 14-speed transmission. You’ll find all the specs, geometry, lots of additional photos, etc. at the Tumbleweed website, but I’ll hit the high points.
The Prospector has standard, non-offset 135mm rear spacing. It’s also the only bike I’m aware of that can fit a 4″ tire even as still maintaining a 73mm bottom bracket width. That’s right–You’ll use your standard mountain bike crankset with this frame, which keeps the q factor consistent with a typical mountain bike. The frame is designed around the Rohloff Speedhub and has Rohloff OEM droputs and Rohloff-specific cable mounts to cleanly run your shifter cables. It’s also got a bullet-proof Phil Wood 73mm eccentric bottom bracket that makes chain tensioning a snap. The frame is definitely not limited to use with a Rohloff, though. It’s got a rear derailleur hanger and full cable mounts for running both front and rear derailleur cables if you wish to set it up without the Rohloff. It’s also got numerous clearance for 29+ or 27.5+ wheels, and the eccentric bottom bracket allows adjustment of the BB height must you choose to run it as a 29+. Other features include a 31.6mm seatpost size (so You’ll run a dropper if you like), 44mm headtube (can accept tapered or straight-steerer forks), and braze-ons galore for all of your cages, racks, fenders, etc.
The frame was treated with Framesaver before building. The specifics for the build are as follows. Aside from where noted in a different way, everything is brand new–I’ve only taken it on a few short rides around the neighborhood to ensure everything is working properly (maybe 3 miles total).

I’m asking $3,050 with shipping included to the contintental U.S., which is less than I’ve got into it (frame and Rohloff alone will set you back $2,650 from Tumbleweed). It’s a bit of a niche setup, but that’s a pretty sweet deal in case you are in the market for something like this. It’s a beautiful bike and I wish I could justify keeping it for myself, but this needs a home with someone who will put it to greater use than I’ll manage! Happy to answer any questions.
